• Tapering a product is a design trick to make the product look tall and sleek. At the same time, it achieves the effect of products looking more robust and stronger by standing steady on the ground. The tapered shape is a part of Blueair design DNA (Design Brand Identity) and can also be found on our HealthProtect designs.
𝗦𝗜𝗭𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗦𝗣𝗟𝗜𝗧
• Strategic aim with the product is to “maximize filtration, minimize noise” – maximize the area of the filter, i.e. the pre-filter, while still keeping the Blue design DNA consistent. That means dividing a clean geometrical object (cylinder, square in our case) into a hard, functional, intelligent (technical) top part and a soft, warm, colorful (humanistic) filter bottom part.
The overall size of the units has increased and that should also go hand in hand with maximizing filtration as a bigger size should be more trustworthy from a maximum filtration aspect point of view.
